WAITING STINKS

What does it mean to wait on the Lord? There have been so many times in my life, in fact I am pretty sure that I am in one now, that I have wandered through those seasons of waiting with fear, anxiety, a sense of worthlessness, or confusion. However the word of God says that, “those who wait in the Lord will renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31). So how do we move from the self centered waiting in which we experience the above emotions to the waiting in which our strength is renewed? In many translations that very same verse in Isaiah reads, “those who hope in Lord…” Coincidence that the words hope and wait are used interchangably in this verse? I think not. It is our hope in the Lord through the seasons of waiting that renews our strength. When we are able to shift our eyes away from what He is not doing and focus on what he is, or will, do then our strength will be renewed. So instead of wandering through these times with fear, anxiety, etc let us rejoice in the hope of what is to come; what is waiting on the other side of waiting.
